Phase 02 · Foundations & substructure
Piling is used where the structural design needs loads taken down to stronger ground. Civio supports the piling operation on site: preparing access and working areas, attending the rig and building the pile caps and ground beams that follow.
Because piling is one stage in a longer sequence, we plan it with the piling mat, excavation, drainage and reinstatement around it. At Park Hill School this meant piling attendance, pile caps and ground beams within a 20-week package.

Who installs the piles?
Piles are installed by a specialist piling contractor. Civio prepares the site, attends the rig and carries out the groundworks before and after, so one contractor manages the sequence around the piling.
What should be in place before piling starts?
Design information, site investigation, a suitable working platform, access for the rig and an agreed sequence for the work that follows.
